P4 enjoyed a visit from Marcel and Wendy (Cara’s mum) from Danske Bank today. They learnt about what a bank does, how to budget and the difference between needs and wants. The pupils engaged well and enjoyed participating in the various activities.

P4 Room 14 plant pumpkins at Helen's Bay Organic Farm
P4 Room 14 had a wonderful day at Helen's Bay Organic Farm. The sun was shining and we enjoyed learning about compost and planting our pumpkins in the ground with Farmer John. We also went on a nature walk with Sarah Jane. We got to see strawberry plants, bee hives (from a far) and lots of other interesting things on the farm. After lunch we had a nature scavenger hunt in the meadow before heading back to school. It was lovely to have Miss Hall and the parent helpers along too. Thanks everyone for such a great day

P6 Viking Day

Holywood Primary School vs Campbell College Junior School
The rugby players, from both P6 and P7, had a great afternoon out at Campbell College. The afternoon started with a P6 game and a P7 game across half pitch each. Both games were very enjoyable to watch with great tackling, lots of offloads and some super tries. The afternoon finished with a larger game on a full size pitch with a mix of P6 and P7 players.
The boys and girls involved all played excellently and represented Holywood Primary School extremely well.
Many thanks again to all the parents for helping with the lifts, to Mr Cupitt and Campbell College for inviting us to play and to Mr McKeown for his coaching expertise.

Eco Club's Green Fingers
March is a lovely time of year to get the green fingers out! Our HPS Eco Club have doing just that, they have harvested lots of lovely rhubard from our school vegetable garden and have planted carrots, parsnips, lettuce and parsley seeds . They also spread some ‘bee bombs’ of wild flower seeds in the planters by the P2 Island to encourage biodiversity! Keep up the great work Eco warriors!
