P2 have enjoyed learning about Holywood . We wet up our own Tourist Information centre and made leaflets about Northern Ireland. We enjoyed making Johnny the Jig Statues, like the Sculptor Rosamund Prager who was born in Holywood. Eva’s Papa kindly visited our class to tell us what Holywood was like in the past and showed us some photographs of how Holywood has changed over time.
We have been having lots of fun at hockey club over the last few weeks. Below are some pictures of us in action. Special mention to Lucas Q, Jay, Lucas M and Bea for trying out as goalie!
We really enjoyed measuring objects around our room using cubes!
P3 have been learning about Healthy Eating and Restaurants. We went to visit Little Wing in Holywood to see what it is like to work in a restaurant. We were able to look at the delicious menus, walk through the kitchens and see the oven where the pizzas are made. Orla answered all our questions about working in a restaurant and how pizza is made.
On our walk down to Holywood we got to sample pancakes from Skinners Bakery! They tasted delicious!
We learnt about famous people who had self belief. We told the story of 3 trees to help remind people to believe in their own abilities. We also learnt about David who had to believe that with God’s help he could defeat Goliath.
We made mats and programmed our Construct-a-bots to move around them.
As part of their topic, P7 boys and girls were learning by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the famous Mackintosh Rose.
The football team played a couple of league games on Tuesday.
The boys played out a tight game with a strong Towerview Primary team, keeping a clean sheet in a close fought 0-0 draw.
They then played Clandeboye Primary, losing narrowly 1-0.
In a final friendly game against Crawfordsburn the boys played some brilliant football, coming out with a 1-0 win.
Well done boys!
Sumdog NI South Eastern Maths Week!
Sumdog held a Maths contest last week and our P5-P7 classes took part. Everyone did brilliantly and solved lots of the Maths problems. Well done everyone!
Here are photos of the amazing pupils who came top of their class and also of P5 pupil Dylan who came first in the whole school! Dylan came 143rd out of 892 pupils from all the EA South Eastern schools that took part.

P3 took part in a litter survey throughout the school, they recorded how much waste they could see and what type of waste it was. They were very happy with how clean the school is kept and enjoyed learning outside of the classroom.
P3 classes from Holywood P.S and Glencraig I.P.S had fun during another day of Shared Education. Everyone tried their best in all of the activities and continued to make new friends.
P7 R13 had a great morning celebrating National Croissant Day. A big thank you to Mrs McKillen for dropping in a ton of croissants and a selection of toppings! (The Biscoff spread was definitely the best!)
We loved making Fruit Salad today! It tasted delicious!
