P4 Celebrate VE Day and a visit from Mrs Gillian Spence

As our topic comes to an end what better way to finish than dress up as evacuees and celebrate the end of the war. We had a great time playing games, discussing what it would be like to return home and of course having a big party to finish!

We were delighted to have Mrs McKeown’s grandmother join us to talk about what it was like for her during the war. The pupils listened extremely well as Mrs Spence talked of being evacuated from London..

Term 1 ends and Term 2 begins! P1 R1

We loved our Christmas Party! A huge thank you for all the yummy treats that were sent in- the P1s had a feast! Term 2 has begun with the topic of ‘Winter’, and the P1s are busy learning about the Season, using numbers up to 10, and starting to use their sounds to spell out their own words.

P2 walked into Holywood as part of their new topic “Our Town’. They looked at the different shops and buildings. The children went into Tesco and bought ingredients to make buns to sell in their class supermarkets.

P1 R3 Nativity!

P1 R3 looked amazing in their costumes for our nativity, ‘Straw and Order!’ The boys acted as security guards and the girls danced as little sheep. The security guards worked very hard protecting the very precious sheep! They all sang and danced, ‘The Sheep Shimmy!’ Well done, boys and girls!

P4 Room 14 Young Enterprise

Over the last four weeks Room 14 have been learning more about the community through the Young Enterprise Programme. We would like to thank Jean from Tesco for delivering fun and interactive sessions each week. Today we welcomed Laura, Jean’s manager, to our classroom. They presented us with our certificates, medals and a chocolate bar!!
