Christmas Charity collection

We were delighted to receive information about brother and sister Charlie (P6) and Eve (P4), who helped raise money for local homeless charity the Welcome Foundation.

Charlie and Eve joined their friends at the beach on Christmas Eve to sell hot chocolate and buns to the swimmers and supporters taking part in the annual charity swim at Helen's Bay beach.

They raised £87 to add to the rest of the collection for the charity.

What a great idea. We're sure the swimmers and their friends really appreciated the treats. Well done Charlie and Eve!

What a 'smashing' young volunteer!

Erin (P6) recently completed her 100th hour of volunteering at visually impaired and blind tennis. Erin is a volunteer helper at CIYMS every week, rain or shine, and is a really helpful asset to the coaches and players. The players and Erin have built up a lovely rapport and she will often play against blind opponents wearing a blindfold to make it a fair game.

What a wonderful way to spend your time Erin. It also fits perfectly with our PMDU theme for December which is ‘GIVING’. You certainly GIVE so much to so many and always with a huge smile. THANK YOU Erin, we are very proud of you.
