Well done to Lexi (P6) who achieved great results in the recent WLDF Dance Competition. Lexi was placed first in the Lyrical section and second in Jazz. Her smile certainly shows how happy she is with the outcome. Great results Lexi!
Gaelic girls glory!
Well done to the Girls’ Gaelic team at St. Paul’s, Holywood who were Under 9s tournament winners 2021. The team was made up of girls from different schools and P6 pupil Clara was one of them. She enjoyed showing the lovely trophy to her class. Well done Clara and your team!
Musical Mara!
We were delighted to hear that P7 pupil Mara, has passed her Grade 2 violin exam. She practised her violin every day during Lockdown! She is still practising in order to take her Grade 3 exam next year.

Amazing Archie!
Huge congratulations to Archie (P5) who competed and won two golds at the British junior Martial Arts championship in Newcastle!

Double distinction for Darby!
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Darby (P6). Darby recently sat his grade 4 Clarinet and grade 4 saxophone exams and was awarded a DISTINCTION in both exams! What a great achievement in both instruments. Well done Darby, we are very proud of you.

Distinction for Darby - double success!
We were delighted to hear that Darby passed his Grade 4 piano exam with distinction AND his Grade 5 piano with distinction. He practised a lot over lockdown! What an amazing achievement Darby. We are very impressed! CONGRATULATIONS!

CONGRATULATIONS to P7 pupils, Lucas and Scott , who were part of the Junior Holywood Cricket Club team that recently won the Instonians Tournament. Both played key roles in the win! Well done boys.
Fabulous Fencing from Timur & Daria!

Both have won 3rd places in Northern Ireland Junior Fencing Series Competition which consist of 5 games over the whole year
Timur took 3rd place in Boys Under 12th category and will be representing Northern Ireland in 2020 British Youth Championship in Birmingham later this year!
Daria took 3rd place in Mix Under 10th category.

Medals for Isla at Trampolining Competiton
Isla was delighted after a recent trampolining competition. Isla came 3rd in the Doubke Mini Trampoline section and 2nd overall in the trampoline competiton. This means Isla has successfully qualified to go to the Northern Ireland Championships. What a great achievement. Well done Isla, congratulations. We are very proud of you and all your hard work.
Swimming to success
P7 pupil, Jorja, was competing in the Swim Ulster Development Gala in Newry.
She won Gold in the 100m backstroke 12yrs and Bronze in the 100m freestyle 12yrs. Both races were personal bests.
Congratulations Jorja. That's also great preparation for the Irish Schools competition in a few weeks!
Christmas Charity collection
We were delighted to receive information about brother and sister Charlie (P6) and Eve (P4), who helped raise money for local homeless charity the Welcome Foundation.
Charlie and Eve joined their friends at the beach on Christmas Eve to sell hot chocolate and buns to the swimmers and supporters taking part in the annual charity swim at Helen's Bay beach.
They raised £87 to add to the rest of the collection for the charity.
What a great idea. We're sure the swimmers and their friends really appreciated the treats. Well done Charlie and Eve!
Rory McIroy gets to meet HPS pupil George!
P5 pupil George was absolutely thrilled to win a competition to ‘Meet and Compete’ against his hero.
What a magical afternoon George had when he met the one and only, Rory McIlroy!

You can tell by the photos that everyone had a great time together. Rory was very keen to take a selfie with George too!

What a 'smashing' young volunteer!
Erin (P6) recently completed her 100th hour of volunteering at visually impaired and blind tennis. Erin is a volunteer helper at CIYMS every week, rain or shine, and is a really helpful asset to the coaches and players. The players and Erin have built up a lovely rapport and she will often play against blind opponents wearing a blindfold to make it a fair game.
What a wonderful way to spend your time Erin. It also fits perfectly with our PMDU theme for December which is ‘GIVING’. You certainly GIVE so much to so many and always with a huge smile. THANK YOU Erin, we are very proud of you.

Well done to Mia & Maisie (P5) who competed in the Gymnastics Ireland National series competition in Dublin. The picture shows they definitely enjoyed the experience. Well done girls!
Abi and Buster enjoy Show Jumping success
We were delighted to hear of P5 pupil Abi’s success with Buster! They finished 5th out of 32 in the 60cm Schools Show Jumping Competition at The Meadows Equestrain Centre. A week later they came 1st! They have won ‘Best Turned Out’ two weeks in a row! Congratulations Abi and Buster.
Triumph in Tae Kwondo!
Well done to brothers Zac and Ethan who have been preparing hard for their recent Tae Kwondo assessments. Zac has achieved his red belt ,black tag and Ethan has achieved his green belt, blue tag in a recent Tae Kwondo grading.
