What a night to remember

WOW OH WOW, what a night for our P6 & P7 choir.

After working really hard to prepare many songs and actions, the big day had arrived!

Thirty -two excited children arrived on a Sunday afternoon along with Mrs Hunter, Mrs Andrews and Mrs Crookshanks at a very busy SSE Arena.

They walked into the huge auditorium with almost 3000 other young children and quickly became aware of the spectacle that awaited them.

The extremely wellknown conductor Greg Beardsell (who Martha met by chance after the show!), full symphony orchestra and pipe band completed their rehearsal which also included some adult singers, Irish and Scottish dancers performing.

There was time for a much-needed break, before the audience arrived. There were almost 9,000 in the SSE Arena by this stage!

We got settled once again and the bright lights indicated we were underway for what proved to be a wonderful night.

The children sang, danced and did their actions amazingly well. Audience participation was fabulous too.

The clip below was probably the hightlight of the evening for us all!

Thanks to everyone for taking part, also to parents who helped with the learning of the songs at home and also to those family members who were able to come along to the evening.

WE’VE ADDED A FEW OTHER CLIPS BELOW.

A huge thanks to Mrs Hunter for co-ordinating the rehearsals in the last three months and to other members of staff who supported her and the children too.

It was a night that the children, staff and families of HPS will always remember, celebrating the power of music and dance and the joy of singing together in a huge choir.

WELL DONE everyone!
