A group of P6 girls experienced their first netball festival at Bangor Aurora. There were 12 other teams in the competition which were mainly made up of P7s. The girls had a baptism of fire in the first 2 matches against a strong Clandeboye PS team and the eventual overall winners Bangor Central. Despite this, they gained some valuable experience and went into the 3rd and 4th matches against Andrews Memorial and Comber respectively with more confidence and positivity. Both were close matches with only 1 goal difference in the 4th. The final game against Carrickmannon the girls came out determined to win. With their hard work and determination they succeeded and came out with the win!
Ella, Nico, Hannah and Emily were super in defence. Isla, Selena and Grace were keen in attack and made some excellent plays around the midcourt. Beth, Abigail, Indie and Lydia worked really well alternating between attack and shooting and did so well in understanding how to work the ball into the D to get a scoring chance. All girls played their part and should be very proud of the way they played. Their sportsmanship and the way they represented HPS should be commended.
Roll on the next tournament!
