Holywood had another fantastic day out competing in the Holywood Cricket Tournament down at Seapark today. This time it was the girls turn to showcase their cricket skills. A total of 23 girls across P6-P7 were selected as part of the girls cricket squad. The teams competed in 2 groups against teams from Penrhyn, Gilnahirk and The Barbarians (a team put together using players from other schools).
The girls were excellent in their attitude and application and played some superb cricket throughout the course of the tournament. There were some magical moments of brilliance behind the bat combined with some outstanding teamwork when fielding.
SQUAD: Martha, Katie, Sophia, Clara, Amber, Isobel, Ruby, Eve, Susannah, Maia, Scarlett, Sarah, Molly, Hannah, Holly, Ellie, Erin, Maisie, Mia, Emma, Bronagh, Mimi and Lucy

After both teams dominant performances in the groups Holywood Team 1 progressed to the finals where they faced Penrhyn 1 and Holywood Team 2 progressed to play Penrhyn 2. After two great action packed games Holywood emerged victorious and as tournament CHAMPIONS! A massive well done to the entire girls cricket squad for their achievements and efforts! A big thank you again to Mrs Harper who was the school representative on the day and for all the support and help from the parent helpers too. A big thank you to Holywood Cricket Club for organising and hosting the tournament which Iām sure will last long in the memories of all the girls who took part!
