An uplifting Harvest Assembly took place to celebrate this special time of year. Mr Mc Neice spoke to the children about how fortunate they are to go to school and have food each day. Millions of children around the world have neither. The boys and girls also enjoyed listening to the P4 and P5-P7 choir and hearing readings from P7 pupils Aimee and Oliver. The whole school had the opportunity to sing a number of songs too.
Our two areas for PDMU in school for September and October are ‘respect’ and ‘sharing’. As part of our Harvest collection this year, the children were encouraged to help share ‘their wealth’ by donating to the NSPCC. HPS recently took part in the NSPCC informative Education Programme which included assemblies for the whole school and workshops for each of our P6 & P7 classes.
We were delighted with the response from the HPS community, THANK YOU everyone for your donations.
