P6 pupil Danny was announced as the overall winner of the MAC’s 6th annual ‘Masterpiece for the MAC’ primary school art competition. His artwork, My Cool Pool, was inspired by world-renowned artist David Hockney’s splash pool series.
Danny had the chance to see his winning artwork exhibited in the MAC. He also won an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the MAC and a special creative workshop for his class to enjoy.
Danny's winning artwork was chosen from over 1200 entries by primary school children across Northern Ireland. Twelve winning masterpieces were selected overall in the sixth year of the Northern Ireland-wide competition.
When speaking about his work, Danny said “When I grow up, I would like my house to be like this.” All twelve winning masterpieces are currently framed and displayed in the MAC – the Masterpiece for the MAC exhibition. Another P6 pupil Alana was one of the 12 winning creations too. Well done!
